another noob question... when burning a mp3 CD, do you use any old blank recordable CD? Because I know when I burn a CD through iTunes, I can only fit like 18-20 songs due to the CD's limits of 80 minutes... Are there special CDs you need to buy??
DRM Digital rights management, copy protected.

Never used itunes. Where did you get the other 98% of you songs?

You can use any blank CD, I use the cheapest brand I can find. The reason you only fit 20 songs is you burnt it as an Audio CD, to fit 100's of MP3s you want to burn it as a Data CD.

OK folks I need help. I'm new so I cant start a new thread, but this seems like the right thread anyway. My 2006 Civic sedan supposedly has mp3/wma playback capability. The manual says it does, and the factory cd player says 'mp3/wma' right on the console. Problem is, it doesn't work.
Whenever I burn an mp3 data CD, wether I put the files in folders, or straight in the root directory, whatevery brand CDR I use, whatever type of mp3 encoding my files have, the player will not read the CD. It says 'CD - Read' and flashes for a second before ejecting the disc. every time.
Now I've had a 3rd party cd/mp3 player installed in my last car, and the mp3 discs worked just fine. No problems whatsoever. I'm using the same software here. Same files. The Honda website is no help, maybe you guys can??

cheers,

hexag1

But doesn't the burn speed only matter when burning for an straight audio CD? besides the mp3 CD's I burn can be read and played on the computer, why not the car?

K looks like the slow burn speed worked: 8x instead of 24x.
thanks to all.

i hv another noob question to ask
well i kno how to burn MP3 cds, so then i drag all da album files and burn it (i use NERO btw), and den in display, it usuallys says folder #2 in the beginning instead of folder #1 (but folder #1 does not even exist in some way). Is there any way to burn the mp3 cd so that it will not skip folder? like folder1, folder2, etc instead of jumping all around?

"Folder 1" is the root folder.

is there any program that will eliminate this problem
well i kno i can always put some songs in da root folder so it will start @ folder 1 again, but dats kinda complicated
because when ur putting in albums, u just drag and drop da folder and so its more convenient, so i was just wondering if anyone has any program dat can eliminate this root folder problem
and for example, if ur trying to burn some songs in a subfolder (like a folder in a folder), dat will skip da folder # in da civic reader as well, so im just wondering if there is any way to eliminate it

CD-RWs are a hit and miss for me. Depends on the brand, how old the CD-RWs are, and how fast you're burning them.

I think I have a Memorex CD-RW 12x in my car, burned at a lower speed.
