ok you guys...I looked FOREVER!! Inside AND from the engine bay. I don't think there are any holes by the gas pedal OR by the foot rest in my car. I have an 07 FG2. If anyone with this exact car found a hole, I would really appreciate a picture! I had to stop my install tonight because I could find that freakin hole!

Ive got a 2007 FA5, and the hole was definitely there above the dead pedal. It opens up to a cavern between the fender and the fender liner. I didnt have to remove any carpet or padding to get to it, just the black trim piece that attaches below the steering wheel with 2 clips and the plastic lock.

^ Just goes to show that the hole is only on the sedans not the coupes.

You have an 07 coupe? Where did you run yours? I just got frustrated and drilled a hole next to the Main harness above the gas pedal!

I've got an 08....and I haven't ran my wire yet. I'm going to wait for some warmer weather and I'll probably drill through the firewall somewhere.

I have a lx coupe, and the grommet isn't located where everyone said it was for them.

The grommet for that fella is shown in the picture, mine was located right above his. Getting the power wire to the engine for me was the toughest part of the installation.

Just installed a power line thru my grommet. I have a '09 Si Sedan.

For clarification, the grommet is above the dead pedal, but it's really on the side of the car, not the front/firewall, if that makes sense. It goes to the front fender, not the engine compartment.

I simply stuck a coat hanger up it from below the dash, hooked my power line up to it, and pulled it up into the engine compartment.

Look about 8" above the dead pedal on the side of the car up in there, basically above and behind your trunk release...

This worked for me. Here's where it goes in, right above the hood release cable:

And here's where it comes out:

It's a little tricky getting it out of the little hole. I grabbed my cable through the hole with a coat-hanger wire, and then grabbed the cable with needle-nose pliers. Then just pull it through and you're good to go.

I couldn't find my plug in my 08 fa5. luckily while standing on my head in the passengers seat, I noticed a bump under the carpet and found the prior owners 4 ga run. Then I started looking for the other ends. found the remote blue and power lines tucked behind the back rear seat. located the cut power wire tucked down behind the battery. they even did a crap job of unistalling and hidding it. wish they would have left it alone, prewired would have been a selling point!

Chevy dealers. . . . OMG

installed a sub and amp in my 08 si coupe yesterday, no luck with the hole. I refused to drill into the firewall, so I found what looks to be the main harness entry point pretty much in the middle of the firewall. There is a large grommet/seal with a large amount of space around the perimeter of the harness, its large enough to accomodate the 4ga cable I was running. I put a slit on the inside and outside and ran the cable through. I then sealed it up with some silicon rtv

I thought connecting all the wires to the hu is the hardest part. Wish there was detailed diy, since I'm complete noob at installing sub, amp or speakers.
