Is it possible to just put a nicer after market 8" subwoofer in place of the stock one without changing anything else?? I want a bit cleaner/more bass but I don't need a ridonkulous amount plus I need all the trunk space I can get and I don't want to weigh my car down with a big box anyway. Thanks in advance.

to the op can you fix the pictures and links, i currently have the stock HU and i already bought everything but never installed anything, i have 2 pairs of kicker ks 6 1/2 dual L5's 1500 watt mono amp (kicker) and 850x4 watt kicker 4ch 0 guage kit kicker and i need to hook up everything, so i dont know what is the fastest way, either loc' ing? or upgrade HU????

bump for me as well, as for the othe poster i think theirs some expensive subs but they arent worth it since you would need the sub to move like crazy and well it would sound like crap even if powerd correctly.

Well the obvious answer would be, "Why spend so much money on everything else to get premium sound, and leave the source stock?"

If you're going that far, why not install a good HU?
But you can leave it stock. The only thing I would personally remove the stock HU for would be a double DIN Nav unit so it could look factory with the DX dash trim.

i want to do a complete setup but it seems to complex to remove the whole dash, i know i can do the other stuff but i just wanted to know if it was better to wait or to go ahead do loc keep the stock stereo but benefit with better sound ?

You must spread some Reputation around before giving it to GulfCoastGhostHunters again.

you'd be quite amazed at how much just having the subs w/ the factory hu helps. it really does sound good. i'd seriously recommend this for anyone looking just for an added "boost" from stock.

when I did this mod, i had only had the car 3 days, lol, and it was the best thing i did...
