Stock 09 radio with aftermarket subs?

I had an 07 civic EX with a system that was so bad, then a week after getting that installed i totaled it. So now I got an 09 si. My radio I did have in my EX had blue lights to match everything and now my si has reddish orange lights. So im wondering if i can still hook up my system to the stock honda radio?

The gauge clusters have nothing to do with it. Also, wrong section, look into Do It Yourselfs.

you can set subs to your factory radio but you'll need a line out converter for that and you wouldnt be able to control the bass of the subs through the radio. if you really know waht you're doing you can do it yourself but i recommend taking it somewhere professional. also since you have premuim sound system in it you may need another part for it. i forget what its called but i used to work at best buy in the car audio section and they sold it. not sure if a best buy near you would have to right part or not, but i recommend taking it to best buy and having them install it. installation may be expensive though. hoped this kind of helped ya

i'm pretty sure the sound system is the same as pre-facelift Si's.. and theres a thread that shows how to add aftermarket amp/sub using a LOC.

he's saying that he doesn't want to use hisstereo that he had in his ex because the dash lighs in an EX would match the blue lights on his aftermarket radio but now that he has a si the lights are not blue like the rest of the civic family but they're redish orange and putting a stereo with blue lights would not match the color theme with the rest of the car so instead of changing out the radio he wants to keep the stock stereo but put his system (subs, speakers,...) in the car running of the stock HU.

line out converter works great. i had one in my 06 explorer until i got my pioneer head. but if u plan on adding speakers and using the stock head for a long time, i'd invest in a sound processor like the rockford fosgate 3SIXTY1 or 3SIXTY2. they let u tweak the eq settings for speakers and subs and add external sources

I think some LOC kit comes with a bass knob. It looks like a phone cable that you run from the amp to the knob that you attach under your dashboard so you can control the amount of bass you put out

What are you trying to prove? there is a DIY for this so he should search and use it...

i reccommend a JL Audio Clean Sweep converter for your installation we used the a little bit but still it's like using electrical tape when you could have soldered...oh also the quality and clarit WILL SUFFER!!

the cleansweep is damn expensive compared to a LOC.. LOC's should only be temporary tho.. or get an amplifier with speaker level inputs and tap into the stock sub wiring..

buy amps with speaker level inputs installed, then send your speakers wires to the amps, run back new wire from the amps to the speakers, if you have the premium setup you already have a remote wire, so all you need is a 4channel amp with speakers inputs and and amp for you sub to power the sub, thats all, forget these LOC as they are real shoody,

on another note LOC would work with the speakers and prob the amp , depends if the stock H/U has amp controls, i dunno as i dont have a premium honda system

Will aftermarket woofers sound good with a stock civic si headunit?
My amp is pushing 800rms into 2 12's, It sounded killer in my old car with an aftermarket headunit. Im worried that I won`t get the bass I paid for with the stock HD in my 07 si.
