I forgot to mention, I didn't install any aftermarket amps for the 6.5" pioneers, using the stock amp. I'm sure if you did install an aftermarket amp for the 6.5" spkrs, it would sound even better.................a whole lot better! Don't worry about knowing how to things like installing audio or anything aftermarket for that matter on/for your car. I found some good ppl on here local and non local that are more than willing to help out by phone (non-local) or by lending a hand (local). Just search for what you need and/or ask.

And for the aftermarket subs; yeah it sounds decent around lvl 0. Past couple days I've had it at 1. |

I have an Alpine Type R 10 with an Alpine MRP-M500 amp, my friend installed it who works at a local professional audio shop (funny enough it's called pro audio, haha) He actually didn't use a line out converter, he just cut an RCA and soldered it to the original subwoofer wiring, that way you CAN control the subwoofer separately from the stock head unit without a boost knob. I have the bass turned all the way down on the stock head unit and the Bass set to center. BTW that system POUNDS for one 10 inch sub i highly recommend it. Any more questions about my setup feel free to PM me, i don't check here much

I have a 2009 Si coupe and had my brother-in-law install my system today. I have the factory headunit and speakers. I have a Memphis Belle1300 pushing a 12" Memphis sub. It sounds so awesome. I'll take some pics and post them here at some point when I get the chance. He only did the amp to push the sub, no re-wiring of speakers to the amp and all that. I'm planning to replace the speakers too with a Dynaudio set that I have boxed up, whenever I get the chance to do it that is.

Nice equipment^^.
Does your Civic not sound like crap, though? Mine is Dynamatted and foamed in all the internal panels (especially in the rear deck) where plastic vibrates, and the stuff still sounds like dirt. I imagine your more-powerful bass setup rattles even moreso than my cheap car. |

Truthfully, no, it sounds pretty good actually for being factory HU and speakers. I don't usually put the bass loud so it helps. I just put it enough to make it a solid thump to it but not rattle, just right a bit more than the factory sub. I just wanted a bit more bass than the factory sub could give. |
