It's actually just my second time to drive up to Ilocos (and my first to drive alone). I've only been to the major tourist places (Laoag cathedral, paoay church, marcos mausoleum, fort ilocandia, malacanang of the north and the vigan heritage site). Wish I had more time to go around and take more pictures though.
It was an 8 and half hour drive from Manila to Vigan, then another hour to Laoag. I managed to do 15.8km/l on the 1.8liter civic... that's with aircon on the whole time, cruising at 100kph with occasional 5K rpm upshifts when overtaking road hoggers and slowpokes along country roads.
