Awesome DIY. Just one question, as I haven't gotten my alpha yet but assume no instructions will come with it, what are the torque specs on the header bolts?
And is the secondary O2 bung further back making it better for an O2 reading form all 4 cylinders? |

That makes sense! I'll probably put my factory O2 sensor there until I get a wideband and then I'll switch them around. I'm guessing you see very similar results between your wideband in the secondary bung and your factory O2 sensor (through flashpro)?
And I'll take a look and find the torque specs, I'm sure they are around. |

I just got my Alpha header, looks like the location of the "primary" makes it rather useless for me. So I'll weld on another bung close to the existing "secondary" so that I can read the same exhaust stream with them both. Better to do it now before I install it, otherwise I'd have to take it off again to weld it on.
But I see you aren't using the defouler that came with the header, my understanding was that it just tricks the secondary into thinking that the Cat is still there right? It's best to just install the A/F sensor without it correct? Thanks! |

So I am running the flash pro and I have the secondary o2 sendor disabled. There is no need to use the defouler on the air/fule gauge sensor.
Yeah the defouler keeps the sensor out of the full stream of the exhaust to keep a cel from showing up. If you don't have a flash pro then you do need to use it on the stock o2 sensor. |

so i don't need power tools for any of this install, correct?
as for injecting my stock motor mounts also, those DO need to be re-torqued with air tools??? My friend has an air compressor w/ power tools that ive done lots of other car stuff with, but we apparently can no longer use his garage... so im wondering if i can get away with doing all of this with just basic tools Last edited by Pentabubs; 07-29-2011 at 11:52 PM. |

As far as I have read the way he has it set up right now is how it should be done. I was told never to put the defouler in the primary bung hole. The way he has it now and what you are telling him he would have to put the defouler in the primary bung hole. That is why I told him he should try to switch the o2 sendors back and leave the defouler were it is. |
