I had the progress bar on for a couple months through the winter. That was because there was a mix-up with the Progress group buy and I didn't end up getting the non-Si adapter kit. So the bar went on, then by the time the problem got sorted out, we were already into our [heavy sarcasm]wonderful[/heavy sarcasm] Canadian winter. So the switch didn't end up being made until spring.
To sum it up, I'm not sure when the break happened, so unfortunately I can't be more specific other than to say it was a couple months--the only reason I know that is that I looked at the surface of the break and it definitely didn't look recent.
