Are you sure that's not just my welding skills (or lack thereof)?
I considered the fact that the original mounting location might have had something to do with the break. But I have trouble wrapping my mind around that, considering that the difference in the location between then and now is only about 1/2". And as iomatic said, it is a front tear out.
The fact that the bar was originally incorrectly installed certainly
didn't help the situation, but I think the fact that the bar is simply much stiffer than the original bar is the bigger player here.
