not all 10K and 12K Xenon's have lower light output. I have a quality made 12K kit on my car, which is purplish, and it has at least double the light of halogen. tate, while those links have some reviews on xenon kits, not all xenon kits perform poorly like that. a quality McCulloch, Philips, or XenonDepot xenon HID kits will improve your night vision. cheap generic kits will hurt your night vision.

If it goes to 10k and 12k, they just aren't quality because of their LOW lumine output. In 10K range, I saw some testing that light output goes down almost to halogen level. Also you can see best when the color of light is white-yellow. Blue-purple would definately make your ability to see objects on the road suffer. Also as light goes bluish, they put out horrible glare due to the characteric of wavelength.
BTW Philips doesn't make anything above 6000K and xenondepot doesn't sell anything above 8000K. As far as being McCulloch being quality product, I heard of stories in crsx board about them failing after 2 years or so... in HID world I don't think that's called quality.
