i am not saying corsport is the cheapest place on earth to buy from, but they are an example of some websites who sell with good customer service (crutchfield comes to mind as well) |

I'm not factoring in customer service. When I was looking at buying a new vibrant exhaust, sctuned was having 0 problems. Everyone was loving them. So I would rather save $10 over nothing and buy it from the cheaper place. Then again, I'm cheap, so I guess that matters to me. I'd rather not spend $10 for the same service imo.

And as for "one retailer being able to price match" = "every vendor has to be able to" is wrong, all vendors price differently to all retailers. Its called preference and its usually based on the relationship we have (vs another retailer) with said vendor. NO one on the internet sells at "cheap prices" and gives away truly free shipping, your correct in assuming its always built into the price, has to be, simple economics. Tai CorSport |

I think throwing in the shipping for a shipped price flat out is a better way of doing things. Im sure on some parts they make a lil on the shipping, but on others they lose.
We use a corp fedex account for the national company i work for and its crazy expensive right now, so all in all, corsport may actually be cheaper than someone else.

I Vtec, I can't arguably say that the $10 more is worth the service because I've never bought anything from either vendor. But what I can say is I think your reasoning is incorrect. I think you see it as a product should be $x anywhere you buy it. But your assuming that any vendor will sell you the same product. But would you apply that to buying a used car? or an item off ebay vs a store? Its the same product, but people have applied different level of service. The point is if one vendor here offers product A and another offers product A, you can't assume the overall value & experience would be the equivalent. If you see a camera at Adorama for $500 and see the same camera for $480 on ebay, you certainly wouldn`t expect Adorama to lower their price would you? |

I do think it is pushing the ethical boundaries for CorSport to effectively advertise themselves as an alternative in this thread. Let this be a SCTuned customer service thread and only that, not a CorSport vs SCTuned cat fight.
That said, customer service makes or breaks online. Yes the reality of online is that companies make money based off volume with the downside of smaller profit margin per unit--and that makes it harder to deal with each indiv customer. BUT it's the timely responses and quality service that keeps people coming back. I don't think people on 8thgen are asking for SCTuned or other companies to do the impossible--if UPS or Fedex delays on their end, there's nothing SCTuned can do. If inventory doesn't come in on time which delays shipment, then the vendor can't do anything about that. But the vendor can be timely in its communication of *what* is happening. Case in point, my wheels took 3 months from Japan to get here (not a vendor in 8thcivic). I was told it would take 2 months. But I loved their service, and would buy from them again as well as recommend them to others. Why? Because they always responded quickly, and in a manner that showed they cared about you. Yes delays and setbacks are inevitable--but what can be controlled is customer service. In our ADD generation of instant digital gratification, people are more impatient than ever--quick customer service is key. My .02 cents. |

CorSport is a sponsor of 8th gen and in good standing so they should be allowed to offer their services as such. SCTuned IS NOT a sponsor of 8th gen and is the one with questionable ethics regarding their response to questions. I'm not allowed to openly promote sales of XYZ parts as a standard member, nor should they be able to. There should be ONE THREAD to make sure that members that placed orders prior to SCTuned's delisting for them to post and receive feedback on their orders and experiences ala X-Intake. |
