Site not Found

I was at work today and couldnt get on 8th. It kept telling me site not found. This went on for 5 hours. I am now home and I can get on. I had friends AIM me and they had similar problems. I am on the phone with one right now and he still sees this. Whats the problem?

If this is an April Foool joke, its pretty fucced up

open up the net again, and try. If he can't get to 8th, the ISP you're using hasn't updated the DNS. We had a hiccup for around 20 min earlier this morning. It will resolve, it just takes some internet providers longer to update than others.

It doesn't make a difference what browser you're using if your DNS server isn't resolving the site. It may take a bit of time for the correct info to re-propagate itself onto your ISP's DNS server.

another suggestion would be to flush your dns, and also close and re-open your browser.. I had experienced firefox keeping its own DNS cache separate from windows and only worked once the application was re-started.. I don't think this happens in IE.

yes, closing the browser before you run the flush dns, then reopening after you do this. I guess I should have mentioned that

I wonder how much the extra traffic from a certain thread had to do with it crashing?
