Why should anyone believe him?

Thats no different than me posting that ... I went to my cousins house in the woods and he built a drag strip. I ran a 14.3 1/4 in my stock Si. It was 100% safe and legal.
I didnt think i needed to post a copy of his permit or take pictures of the airfield to justify myself. Better yet would they be happy if I get a signed form from the local Police station sanctioning it??? comeon you think I would go to this length to justify B.S.???? please...

you want top speed runs...go to the silver state challenge...I guarantee the mods would not ban that thread...

Welcome to the internet. The easiest place to lie and get away w/ it. Ive experienced people going into great detail about things they have 'done' or people they 'know'.... yet they cannot prove these things.

From my experiences... unless the person is vouched for by another respected member of the community... there is no reason to believe them until they have proved otherwise. Sorry.

Your first thread suggested this strip was not sanctioned...nor was it even occupied. It was abandoned. That alone is the reason why your first thread was closed. An explanation was posted in that thread before it was closed.

Your second thread completely changed that story to one that states that the airfield is now occupied and currently sanctioned. So which are we to believe?

The threads were closed for good reason. It's no different than someone violating the For Sale forum rules and selling an item they don't actually have, having a mod close it, then creating a new sale thread immediately afterwards saying that they indeed do have it the item.

Your original question, "Speed Governor on our Sis??" is a legitimate question. The fact that it involved unsanctioned racing is at the heart of the closures.

Im not saying I dont believe the OP. Im sure his uncle DOES have the airstip and necessary permits. But its easy to see why a random posting such as that would get closed down. Its not proved to be a sanctioned race area.

My post was more directed to the person that said this:

Quote:
IMO the 8th is very against illegal racing and items which would encourage it...by stating your top speed (even though it may be done "legally") you are in a way encouraging other people to speak up with there not so legal ts runs...
Just because they post top speeds doesn't really encourage others to do it.

I couldnt agree with you more. And if I could get copies of his permits and post his personal info up like that I would. but again My original thread wasnt about the strip or the top speed, it was about the governor....

sanctioned drag strip means its intended purpose is a drag strip, with lights and timing systems and officials making sure its all legitmate, not a closed airfield owned by a friend or family member. Just because a the owner of the property says its OK doesnt make it sanctioned.

Just so you know, mods are people too, with classes and jobs, I had to go to class, a class where the professor specifically says dont bring laptops to my class, so i couldnt continue to be on here answering your PMs.

I understand the confusion, I didnt elaborate for the simple reason my origianl Q was about the governor. Once that thread was locked (which I see why) I re worded the thread. Then once I made the reference about the top speed I was cut off again. Now I have to go about elaborating on my uncles air field. No hard feelings, I just feel the second lock was unjust

I know the feeling, im in a corporate meeting as we speak .

My thread wasnt about sanctioned or unsactioned drag racing, it was about a governor (which cant be discussed unless references to what top speed was achieved are used) This thread isnt about a sanctioned drag strip but a top speed sanctioned airfield that is being prepped for drag. Its not that the owner (my uncle) says its okay, but his permits say its OK

it just needs to be understood, the mods job is to look out for the community and not just a member...

and that is why I posted this thread, to justify myself. A simple PM saying "reword your post its unacceptable" would work a lot better than locking my thread, twice

youre more than welcome to discuss the top speed you hit on a dyno, but there are no real places to legitimately take a Si up to its max speed even if your uncle really can allow it, too many people take that to mean their top speed runs become ok to post.
