if you are asking me to elaborate...when you click on the rep symbol on other sites, it gives you the option to approve or disapprove...I remember when this was an option, what happened to it?

I am on the edge of how big our PM box should be. I can easily manage the 50 PM's, but other sites I'm on have 100.

The 30 second search is short, but I can easily also search google to find threads and such. Site navigation is easy. The ads aren't bothersome and do not split up posts (which is the best thing EVER).

However, in the most general of terms, this is one of the best sites I've joined, ever. Not to mention the most helpful Admin ever.

It sounds stupid, but is it feasible to have an "export" button for PMs? Like, export it to wordpad or something. I had a nice conversation with Greg (HighRev1) a while back about tires, and I like to read back to it now and then. ...Then again, I could just as easily cut/paste that stuff myself. LOL. Forget this little rant.

yes, you can export all pm's.

Download all Private Messages as:
XML | CSV | Text

at the bottom of your page for private messages. It'll let you download as text, excel, or comma separated.

thanks for comments

Learn something new every day! I had noticed the shorter search times too -- didn't know if I was unconsciously waiting 30 seconds, or if it was lowered. Exporting messages when I get home.

THEY USE ITRADER FOR REP =\ LOL. everything is kept organized and easy to find topics using the search button. good job guys in making the 8th such a great and warm place to be

I would say "organized" and "moderated" and "consistent".

I have been a member of dozens of car forums over the years, and I can say with 100% honesty that the admin and mods on this board are the best I have ever seen. Mods all see to use very good judgement, and are very consistent with threads that are locked for a variety of reasons. To many forums have favorites that get away with certain posts/topics....hell even mods sometimes break the rules on other sites and is often overlooked. One other plus is how clean the site is porn, vulgarity, racial slurs, etc.... this doesn't belong in a well run car community IMO.

I'd say you all have done a hell of a job here keep up the good work....not to mention i am a sucker for 2Fast, she is the bomb!

Ive been a part of many many many different forums, btoh car and various others.

There are 3 things, above a hundred little things, that stand out the most to me (in no particular order):

1: The Staff - No other forum, including one that I am a moderator on, has as attentive and down-to-earth crew of moderators/admins as this site. Keep up the amazing work, guys/gals!

2: Ease of navigation - I cant even begin to describe how many forums or overridden with ads and extra addons and lack of good forum structure. All these things make the other sites a headache to navigate. 8thcivic has found the perfect blend of 'up-to-date' functionality, while still keeping a simplicity that allows ease of use, for even the most inexperience forum-goer

3: Community - This community, as a whole, its unreal. Between DIYs, Technically help for newbies (like myself) and justa welcoming attitude... It really feels like everyone is friends and just here to have a good time. Sure people quarrel and get into bouts... but in the end. Thats unavoidable. In the big picture... its this community that stands out above all else.

8TH CIVIC FTMFW!!!!!!

Oh... right. One word, eh?

..... BAMF!

Thanks all for the kind words and the criticisms. The organization of the site is the way it is because of input from the community. The DIY and For Sale sections were reorganized into sub-categories because members thought those sections were too cluttered.

Remember, if you have any ideas that could make the forum better let us know through a new thread, a post, a PM, whatever.

Keep the word associations/feedback coming!

upload the images to a site like photobucket.com. When you do that, there will be an area underneatht he picture that is labeled 'IMG Code'.

Just highlight and copy all of the text in that box and paste it into the forum.

Hope that helps

I completely forgot to mention the smilies. This site has THE BEST smiley set. It could use a couple more..... but damn. I always try to use them (force of habit) on the other forums and even in AIM sometimes.
