The mods work very hard to keep the site working well. If you want a site where you can swear and neg rep and bash people's beliefs, there are more than enough of those out there. 8thcivic has a purpose - to provide a forum for discussion about the car. Clearly that would be very limited in itself and we expand. However, we keep the site friendly and work safe. It allows people to view it from work or school. Could you imagine what all us addicts would do if 8thcivic was banned from offices because the content or language was picked up by work filters?

That's prob over the top too, but on the net, nobody really gets what your saying except you. The mods help keep things on topic (where applicable) and humane. For example, how much would you trust someone to buy/sell items here if we let the member go rampant? Would you feel comfortable to sell or buy or even post if people flamed you all day? I sure as hell wouldn't.

it's kinda like when u take a dart board with all the members names and throw one dart until u hit a name... then they get their MOD powers... and last year working only part-time as a Mod i made $3.8 million dollars...

I took the time to go back and look at every single post the OP has made in the Test Drive Extravaganza thread and was able to find all but none of his posts.

In fact, not only did the OP never post at all in that thread, I was unable to find any mention of any portion of the post in question. Interesting.

in all seriousness... if i wasn't a mod then i'd prolly say some things on here that would get edited out immediately prolly even place me under moderation... and i'm pretty sure a lot of other mods feel the same way... but for us as Mods/Admins, basically figures of authority on THIS site we need to set the example for the rest of the members...

but the reality is that in order to keep the site clean and fun for everyone things have to be edited/deleted/etc... for some of the members here b/c of the fact they say things that were offensive, etc...

i personally don't even take the time to PM someone about their post being deleted/edited/closed/etc unless the member is still pretty new... the reason i don't do that is simple... as a member of this site and after a certain amount of time being here u should FULLY know and understand the SITE RULES and if u don't u need to check that thread out to refresh ur mind...

see that's what members here miss... to you it absolutely means nothing at all... but to another member they'll read that comment as racist...

and as Mods we have to be able to think ahead and see if the post will create problems in the future... and if we think it will it gets deleted/edited...

well your apology is accepted..I didn't find it offensive because of your chosen words in your comment but because of the point you were trying to make....It seemed like he was being sarcastic about how much money he makes and you failed at an attempt of using reversed sarcasm which led to your statement being offensive. anyway i'm not trying to have any beef but it's all good man..i'm out...
