2008 8thcivic.com Calendar

I know it's still June but was wondering if there are any plans to do a 2008 calendar...whether there is going to be one or not...never to early to get the ball rolling and gathering ideas....

For '08, I think the featured rides in the calendar should be 2007 ROTM winners...what do ya think???

That's one idea. Or we could have people post their high-resolution pictures into a thread and vote on them. We could even organize it seasonally.

it could be done either way. Last year we were in a big rush to get high res images in time to get them printed/shipped by Jan. It'll definitely be started much earlier so we have more time to vote or pick

I like that idea even better...I thought that since we already select ROTM that it would be easier that way...but yeah I like your idea better

heres an idea. this is so everyone has a chance to get their pimped out pictures on a calender

Im thinking for the calendar, put the dates in a box, and get 364 pictures.. the 12 best/most voted ones go on the main page.. the rest can be put in the little boxes? but make it like faded just as background image kinda thinger.. or someting like that.

orrr, we should just pick out the nicest looking shots on this website, print them out in a book format and sell them! wooot!

I like your first idea, with the small pictures on each day! That F-in rocks, and it'll give more people a reason to buy them, there-by offsetting more of the cost.

Nah, thats not cool. There are lots of pictures that would make awesome calander shots, but the cars just arent ROTM worthy. It should be on a picture quality basis.

High resolution. Basically, larger photos. You can always shrink a photo down to fit the size or resolution you need. You can't make a small picture bigger and keep the same quality.

Thanks for the explanation. I just wondered if there was a more technical (numerical) answer.

I don't know that we have a standard definition for "high resolution." Maybe webby can give us particulars for that now. If not now, then when we post the thread inviting submisisons, we'll have those standards well-established.

Based solely on last year's submissions I assume that it's referring specifically to the picture size (e.g. greater than 1024x768 pixels).

I think we should have people post web-size pics in a thread, then webby requests high-res pics.. or we just post thumbs to high res pics.. cause too many high res pics in one thread = overkill :[.

Woo! Big pictures. My widescreen won't even fit those pictures.

We'll have to do our best to encourage using links rather than posting those gargantuan pictures right on the site.
