I figured the rep system was being massively abused when you look at the highest rep'ed people and they are mostly just post whores. :/

I'm sure if it starts getting thrown around and abused the same way rep is/was that it'll be considered.

Just because someone has a high post count doesn't mean they know what they are talking about. Also, just because one has a LOW post count doesn't mean that they have any knowledge on a subject.

IMO, it might be a good thing to consider.

Does rep really matter? Then again, I do like trying to find out what different levels of rep says...

There was a rather big loss of meaning to rep anyway, once the negative reputation button got taken away. Either way, 8thcivic is still 8thcivic.

Posts have already been abused, if you were a VIP you would know what I am talking about. About 95% of the threads in the VIP section are post whore threads.

You know, I always wondered how ppl got rep so fast. Some joined within 3-4 months and already got the 8-ball or whatever it's called. And then I'd see their posts and wonder why they're so rep-worthy.

Is that why there were "post whore" threads? Never knew what they were for. I joined VIP to see what's in the forum, and all I saw were post whore threads. Can somebody explain why those threads existed?

Maybe a less far-reaching solution would be a rep-wipe for those abusing the system? I think SOME rep system is better than none at all. I also would want neg rep back.
