Redundant, redundant, redundant threads

I seems that as of late, there has been a rash of redundant threads. I personally find it very annoying. I politely tell people to search (ok sometimes not so politely) and then get bashed (which doesn't really bother me). Are the mods willing to shut these threads down if informed about them?

yes - with a link going to the information to their question we can close them.
