Race Related Category

Most are street racing stories. May I ask why is it being allowed? I personally don't like people who street race and who don't have the balls to AutoX or go to a track - no money?

But why does 8thcivic allow such posts to exist? I mean there's even a thread in the VIP room about kill stories in the streets. Why? Why can't this portal be street racing post free?

Street Racing is for kiddoes who can't afford to go to a track nearby - legal and sanctioned.

Maybe moderators and administrators street race too?

the race related category is not supposed to have street racing threads posted in it, only track autox and legal drag, so the people who are posting street racing threads shouldnt be, but it is not always easy to police.

Then why is there a kill stories thread for those that street race? Isn't that sort of encouraging street racing by posting 'kills'?

I brought this up a long time ago, there are different opinions. Some love reading about them, some don't care, and some dislike it. I was unaware they are trying to restrict street racing threads. Heres the thread from awhile ago with a lot of different opinions...

You do not have access to the vip room. So you are complaining and you don't even know if it's there?

If a certain topic bothers you, just ignore threads that might have any related content to that topic.

i am not a fan of street racing, but the threads don't bother me. street races are going to happen whether you allow threads or not. people aren't going to be like hmmm I won't be able to post about this street race tonight on 8thcivic.com so I guess I just won't race.

i dont mean to be a d*ck but stop being such a baby.. if it bothers you that much dont read it.. i mean where do you think this whole industry was created and why it is so successful? i do both, ya sometimes i go out and street race as well as track race.. see that is the thing you dont get, its not the money issue, as most of us have cars that are 20+k. The atmosphere is different at the street races.. i mean i have been going to them since 96 here in the bay.. its a thrill to be out there. i am not saying that its right but its fun.. .. so street racing is not for "kiddoes" only... i have met 50 year old men that love to go out there and spank on the so called "kiddoes" with their V8 monsters..so its just a different atmosphere.. i mean i do nasa pro racing and have for years.. but i still get out the the street races every once and a while.. fasho!~

Someone sure cleaned up race related thread's today (at least 2 are completely gone) . I agree with who cares.... people will do as they please anyway, and the 8th may not condone street racing, but it will happen regardless. If people want to post about it to each there own.

That is your choice, and I am sure that money has nothing to do with people street racing versus going to the track...unless 10-15 bucks is to much for some.

I know it's my choice to ignore them or not. But I won't just sit around in this forum and see all this street racing threads. Just because you're 50+ years old doesn't mean you still don't act like a kid who doesn't know what's legal or not legal.

Ooh and please I'm not trying to be a baby by complaining on street racing.

It's just illegal no matter how you see it.

And whoever said I don't have access to the VIP room? Is it because I do not have the "VIP" tag name under my forum name? EL OH EL man.

But whatever, I already read the thread (10 pages) about Street Racing Threads in 8th Civic.

Useless. Just close this thread too.

Thanks for the negative rep on someone trying to do something to help the comunity.

i dont know how the steet racing is done up there in CO.. but it can be organized and set up in good spots to where the only real danger is to yourself.. (just like a track i might add). now i am not condoning the side shows and crap like that, but a nice run on the street is fun.. i mean have it set up right and get after it... people have been doing this since the 40's so I really dont think its gonna go away.. its too bad that some people do give street racing a bad name.. but those are usually the people that are just there as spectators.. usually the racers are there for one thing, racing.. it is illegal, but would you rather have those "thugs" running the streets and breaking into your house instead? i am not trying to bag on you at all, you are entitled to your choice.. i just found it weird how someone who doesnt like it read 10 pages of it.. and then had the gout to say something bad about it.. its all good in the hood.. cya on da street.. jk haha

by the way toda rocks!!!!!

street racing threads are fun to read specially if people claim beating a faster car becoz the SI can handle better in turns.....lol.....

on + side,it gives you an i dea who you can mess with or not...
on my case i like street racing... the VIR is 1:30 mins away and its hard to get in unless your on the club..
dragstrip is 2hrs away...i dont wanna waste gas on driving unless its NOPI..

Or maybe people dont live close to tracks???? My closest track in over 3 hours away! Yeah I'll admit it, I street race! Street racing is how most of the import scene started. To knock street racing is to deny our past! And just like you said

You personally dont like it. That is your choice. I personally dont like cars that have more show than go. But Im not going to start a thread saying people with cars like that should be removed. Im not trying to argue about the fact that its the forum rules. I acknoweldge that and am willing to comply. But dont hate on people that arent as well off, or in some cases just not as law abiding, as youself.
