Were you able to find a plugin that allows this on vbulletin?

As of now the only possible way to get the spreadsheet to show would be to enable html posting for you or for one of the admins to do it since I believe they might have access to using HTML in their posts, unless vbulletin disables it for everyone when it's disabled for the forum.

forum coding ftl. We're you trying to input an html code or just that link?

try this if you can:

<IFRAME width='500' height='300' frameborder='0' src='http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=tIppmDyET1EZ9ACFw54VgFA&single=true&gid=0& output=html&widget=true'></IFRAME>

from michinsi's thread

looks like they might have tried this already in the thread they were trying to get this to work in.

hmm looks like it might not be possible. Found these topic's

Add iframe - vBulletin.org Forum

and

iframe in bbcode

Looks like to use IFRAME, we would either have to get that plugin, or put it in as bbcode which hopefully/maybe webby or someone on here would be able to attempt to do. I know how to put in bbcode but this site is too big to mess up and have down. ill have to go into

EDIT: Looks like the 1st link is not a plugin, but more of a how to get into the control panel to set up a new BBCODE, it's just the code is blocked out on that page.

the "iframe" itself opens up problems.

IFRAMES open HUGE holes in your forums. any number of malicious things can be done with them.

password stealing
viruses/trojans embedded in the html page it pulls up

I frames auto open meaning your screwed if someone uses them in a bad way.

Before installing, you guys should be warned of potential security holes this opens up. any user could write a script to steal cookies or whatever they wish to do, and simply load the page via a iFrame which would cause havoc for your board and its users.

Yes that's why I was saying have it so at least one mod/admin as yourself could put in the code. You could have it set up in the forum just disabled for every member except the certain people, like you have done disabling HTML code in forum posts. That takes away any security risks in itself from what I know. I'll read up on it to make sure i'm not wrong, but it's your say webby, don't want to open up a security risk for something small.

EDIT: It's part of bbcode so yea nvm would pose a security risk unless bbcode was disabled.

only way to get the code on here is to basically just add in the code, set it up quickly while the forum is disabled, then we'll have the iframe code set up to show the spreadsheet file and would only need to update the spreadsheet from there on and never touch the iframe code again.

Sounds like too much work though.

yea, people almost need to take a screenshot of the data / post the jpg or save the spreadsheet as an excel file - and you can attach it to the post. You can upload excel files directly to threads (by managing attachments)

this icon - next to the youtube button for advanced replies, is a google spreadsheet.

For example, when you click to share a spreadsheet, google gives you a link to the file.

Code:
http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=tDf-e51VYj6gvIx7_VTMiXg&output=html
note the trailing code.
tDf-e51VYj6gvIx7_VTMiXg

You just need to copy/paste the info between "key=" and "&output=html"
translates to:

tDf-e51VYj6gvIx7_VTMiXg when posting. <<< This code is all you put into the icon.

If you've embedded a youtube video, it's basically the same principal.
