We need to keep people from posting kill "stories" that are there just to grab attention. It ruins it for people posting up great stuff like vids, autoxing, drag racing, time slips, all jap boosted si, etc..... Let me get this straight, i don't mind reading legitimate kill stories. A legitimate kill story is one that is longer than 4 sentences and makes some sort of sense. Lately it seems like there are people looking for attention, they put the turd by the fan and when someone walks in to the thread....the poop goes flying.
Examples - posting a kill thread with just the car(s) you beat and little to no information on the race at all. Not only that but you managed to put it into 1 sentence. This is a garbage thread that is going to get people fired up....hence the crap hitting the fan. There is no need for that here. This looks bad on the community and attracts undo attention to the 8thcivic forums. I think we need to set up a strict set of rules and sticky them on the race related forum.....if someone breaks any of the rules.....the thread dissappears. I would just rather see better quality stuff in the race related forum and stop all the who's faster bickering. My $.02 |

Absolutley, what are you looking for? Should i follow the format of the general rules set by 8thcivic already and go from there?
Mind if i get insight from other members? They should have a say in the rules and could help hammer out details, dot the I's and cross the T's. |

In an attempt to clean up the race related forum, 8thcivic and members alike have approved a list of rules below concerning “kill stories” . Kill stories and the posts associated with them are welcome in the race related forum under the following conditions:
- Use appropriate grammar while telling your story. Make the story clear to the audience. It’s hard to read a bunch of jumbled words when there is no punctuation to separate them. - Details, details, and more details. The more information about your vehicle and the vehicle you were racing, the better. Include anything you can (ex: weather, type of roadway/track, car make/model, visible/obvious modifications, speed(s), what gear you were in etc.). - The story itself should be at least 2 paragraphs long and 4 to 5 sentences per paragraph. This is not hard to do if using proper grammar. - Response to such a thread will be constuctive and related to the original thread or questions that pertain to that thread. - Arguments/disputes do and will happen. However, namecalling or going off topic will not be tolerated. Keep it mature and tasteful! If your post fails to meet any one of these conditions, it will be deleted without notification. how's that? Last edited by BLU BY U; 07-18-2006 at 08:58 PM. |

My dear blu, I wasn't looking for anything. This was your idea. And, yes follow the general rules set by 8thcivic and go from there. Getting insight from other members is a great idea. |

Thanks for taking the time to write it, someone needed to. Now we need the MODS to make you a MOD of the Race Forum so you can enforce it. |

Now what heartless bastard would take that job? heh.
Deleting poorly written, witless, pointless 'dood' threads....hmmm.

And I'm only being slightly sarcastic d= I especially like the grammar rule, though I have to remember to use spell check I suppose if I'm going to bitch about other people's grammar. |
