Glad to see everythings better on this thread. So back to the topic. Its really hard to stop modding on cars. In my opinion, they should be stricter to racers when they actuually stop them. Theyll never be able to stop them even if its illegal, like marijuana. Its illegal but Everyone still does it. Also I dont think it should be banned in forums. Its actually entertaining to find our SI's versing g35's and Rsx's. Just my opinions.

I think it's entertaining, there will always be street racing. Its been going on since the 40's-50's. It's not going to stop anytime soon. doesn't make it right, i know, but cmon people.

Everyone? Perhaps in your circle of friends, but 'everyone' is far fetched.

i agree with what most people are saying here on this topic. i'm not going to lie, i've done some street racing but never in an are where i would be putting someone else's life in danger. i would much rather take it to the track but theres nothing around my area. i have no problem when people go to back roads but the other night i got really pissed when i saw a corvette and an is300 racing up the turnpike weaving through traffic.

i don't really agree with banning all talk about street racing, as long as no one is trying to organize illegal races on the boards. either way, lets all keep safe and use our heads the next time some kid pulls up next to one of us in his mom's ford taurus wanting to go

I enjoy having discussions where people's viewpoints differ drastically. Posts directed towards any one individual are unnecessary. After reading everyones opinions, some make good points, some don't. When I wrote about banning threads about street racing, it was just an idea, an idea in my mind that would improve the site. If there were many others with the same viewpoint and there were only few people who enjoyed posting/reading about them, I would feel as though it would be a good decision. However, it is clear that most generally do not mind the threads, so they should stay up and nothing should happen. This is quite obvious in my eyes. So anyone still fretting about me trying to "ruin" the site, need not worry, nothing should happen if the mods want to please the majority of the members. My intentions weren't and aren't to rid the world of street racing (although it would be nice). I guess now that this thread has evolved, and reading everyone's posts, my main point is that street racing should not be promoted, and it seems as though it is through some of the threads. Everyone must remember that young kid, I forget his name, but he was on here posting about his terribly low gas mileage, and how he hit a curb and bent his wheel or something. I guarantee that he read the numerous street racing related threads and although I think he was a spoiled moron before he read the threads, I believe those threads added to his ignorance regarding driving at excessive speeds. Next think I read is that he flipped his Si. Now I am not saying that those threads were single handidly responsible for his accident, but I guarantee they did not help. If you aren't part of the solution, you are part of the problem.

Now reading anything that kid posted was worth the entertainment value alone (not to mention any time he posted it generated 3+ pages of dissent and chaos)

I know we/this site/ or anybody here is not going to stop street racing, that was not the point I was making to you. I was just saying that what you said had no value, perhaps you should have reworded it to say something like you said above where there is a point that you are making. It seemed you where just attacking this guy and that's all.

Yes, the moderators and admin do take notice of well back points as I said earlier, don't think your voice has gone unnoticed, you can probably tell by the number of mods that have reasonded lol

I do agree that some people brag and such a little much on these forums and others like it, but I hate to say I really don't think it would have stopped anything had they not been able to post, I think Tight_Si still would have flipped his can and the world would still have street racing. I support your cause for tring to stop street racing, but I don't think banning it here will have much effect. From what I gather on this thread and others is that people simply don't have a place to race. If you really want to help control it, try setting something up with the local police like I talked about earlier. But I believe as long as we have cars, we will always have street racing, but you and people like you can certianly help to lessen the problems caused by it.

That kid had a serious attention problem... as in he wanted attention, any way he could get it. I bet his father worked all the time and never spent time with him and as result he wants to show off to everybody and be the center of attation regardless if it is postive or negative attention..... I really do feel bad for people like that.

No need to swear at other members. Yes he called you a name, but that was before my warning. I draw the line at insulting other members of the forum. Yes, I agree he called you out first and that is why this post is still here, otherwise I would have simply deleted the entire post.

This thread has got out of hand and the opinions have been posted by those that have chosen to speak. For those that have not voiced their opinions, I’m sorry, but this thread is done. To the original poster, I encourage you to continue your ways; your points here have not gone unnoticed by the admins and mods, thank you for voicing your opinion and to the rest who have responded reasonably thank you for your opinions also and it is opinions like this that will help this site grow into what you and all the members here want it to be.
