My fellow officer is doing pretty good, he has a major cuncusion(sp!!!). He is expected to return to full health. they wont let him sleep for more than about an hour at a time though. i dont really know why but i guess it has to do with his head trama. His throat is fine, and after a couple stitches and some blood he was doing good.

sitting in this hospital room has given me plenty of time to complete the paper work for discharging my fire arm and the loss of life therafter. I know he was a bad person, and what he did obviously was a threat to my life, my fellow officer's life, and possably many other lives, but i still cant help but feel bad about what i had to do. its just hard... i cant expect anyone else to understand. the thing i dont like is that now i am required to talk to a phsyciatrist for like a month, blah. lol

as you can see in the pic, i was stabbed through my kevlar(bullet resistant) vest. as Alli said earlier, they dont protect from knifes. A stab proof vest is stiff, unlike the kevlar vest. therefor making it almost impossible for officers to wear on a daily basis. A new vest has been ordered for me, and its an upgraded one!!! extra breathability and extra movement... yippee!!! also... its a level 3 vest, which means it can take up to a .308 i beleive, my old vest was a level 2 which probably wouldnt stop a .223. so thats good. ive got to get a new uniform shirt, and my underarmor was ruined as well, and underarmor is expensive, lol. no biggy thoough, im just glad to be doing good.

i may get to leave tomarrow... they think i might havethe stomach flu :/

i cant wait to drive my civic, i usually go crazy if i havnt driven it in like 8 hours.

Underarmor FTMFW! I was able to get a shirt when we camped out for a Wii. It helped a lot, and yeah is it pricey.

Cool to hear about the vest!

As far as the suspect, I can definitely see why you'd feel bad even though you were faced with grave danger. That guy obviously didn't give a damn about anyone's well being. You did exactly what you had to do, he left you with no choice when he attacked you and the other officer. I mean damn, he disabled the first officer who confronted him and then could have fled, but no, he returned to try and kill the person who was coming to help him. If you didn't do your duty he may have hurt more people after you, officer, paramedics, civilians, who knows...

It's awesome you and your fellow officer have recovered from your injuries so fast. The doctors must have done a great job too! Tell em thanks from 8thCivic!

Underarmor FTMFW indeed, the insulated stuff works great when your standing on the side of the highway in freezeing cold weather, and the summer gear is great to wear under the kevlar vest becuase it help cool you down, and those vests are HOT in the summer

yes, the medical staff here is excelent. As an officer, i kinda feel like im getting the royal treatment here, heh, it nice

btw... hospital food FTL lol
im gonna bust out the BBQ when i get home... FTMFBBQ haha

i rejected all forms of pain killers, they only thing i would let them give me is local numbing stuff... thats sXe for ya haha... oh yeah, they say a paper cut is the worse pain.... WRONG!!! haha id take a thousand paper cuts over this. i think i got one or two stitches, i cant tell, its in my back i cant see it.

whoever invented the hospital outfit thingy sucks. my but hangs out of this thing, so i stole another one and put it on backwards and the other one on in the right direction, so i got like a tunic of sorts. and im walking around with my chlorano duty shoes(like dress shoes but really shiny) on and this super sweet hospital gettup. yeah... i got style. the nurses keep getting mad at me cuz i keep on roaming around the hospital, its soooo boring. nick at night will be on soon, and i think tonight might be fresh prince(love it) or roseane(it funny).

ive played my PSP so much and i beat NFS carbon. Alli got me a couple import magazines(Super Street, Modified, and Honda Tuning) i read all of em. day time tv ftl. i want a BBQ burger man... oh i love cooking, and then eating it

Wow. Kyle, I'm sorry that this happened to you. You and your fellow officer are in my prayers. I wish I could be there to thank you in person for taking care of your fellow officer and having the will to get you both to safety while you were injured. You truely are a hero. Take care and I hope you recover in record time so that you can continue to bring a smile to all you meet and encounter.

Wow bro, you really are an f'n incredible guy for being so modest about the whole situation. You chanced your life to save another officers, and that is the most admirable thing that I've come across in my life. There is nothing in the world that is better than what you did, and I give you mad respect for it. I'm not gonna lie, with your sense of humor about this you're definately a bigger man than me.
I am curious if they tested the bastard that did this for anything afterwards, like drugs and stuff, and how it came back.
I don't know how good the browser on the psp is, but I recommend hitting up youtube for some top gear vids.

And for the funniest thing I could come up with real quickly..

Glad to hear you are doing better. My hubby is an officer here and I woke the him up last night to show him the pic of your back. Just wanted to give him a reminder to watch his back. Well, keep getting better and we'll keep thinking of ya.
