hey webby a quick question i sent the app. but never got a response i sent it last night feb 17 is there a whait time i should know about??

You wont get a response unless you are picked to be a mod. I've submitted applications numberous times and never recieved a response. If you dont get a response.... you were turned down, but it can take a while to decide whether or not you are MOD material.

The aps don't get read every day - I'm sure the admin have 100s of email a day on top of their regular lives etc.

But don't be afraid to send the apps in!

Is it possible to nominate someone to be a mod? I would like to nominate Excalibur to be a mod. He is well qualified and is extremely helpful in assisting people.

since moderators have more background info on users we do the nominations then break it down from that... ultimately the decision is made by the Man...

for other members to nominate sum1 would be too hectic and crazy... just remember that nothing on this site goes unread...

Thanks Bizzy. Hope I didn't break any protocol here in trying to nominate someone. I do understand that Webby makes the decision. Anyway, consider my nomination of Excalibur to be like a letter of recommendation. Never saw an application that did not have a provision for references.

BTW, here is the application. It asks about references. If someone like myself cannot give a reference, then why is the question asked on the application? How would someone go about getting references? Are they supposed to solicit them? Note the reference question in the application:

Personally, I wouldn't stress too much on the references. It's a pretty tight community and we don't necessarily have to rely on references to get another perspective of who you really are. The way I originally approached it is by using an existing moderator. I'd suggest you used a moderator who you're constantly in contact with or maybe those who you've conversed with. But like I said, it's not a big deal.

i would guess that post count and join date don't really mean a whole lot, they just ask to get a better idea. i think it comes down to how little of a tool you are and how useful you have been to the community. they want people who mean well and aren't going to abuse it.....no??

i guess. It just makes it seem like that i am not on at all even though i am on everyday. this is honestly the only site that i go one when i go on the computer (besides some ghost story forums once in a while).
