Learn the road, then build the speed if you wish. But we should all first remember to be safe and have fun!

i went to the graham county link but which one of the motels would be the closet to where the bulk of the group are staying. and do we have a block of rooms in the lodge that is mentioned.

As far as I know, the lodge is still holding rooms for us that weekend. You could possibly get reservations there closer to the meet if someone cancels. Maybe you can call them at that time and if they are full, give them your info and have them call you in case someone cancels.

You could go ahead and make reservations at Microtel in Robbinsville at the same time if there are any vacancies there. If the lodge happens to call you when you can still get a full refund at Microtel, go ahead and make reservations there.

Another option is to make a thread asking to find out if you can stay with someone who already has reservations at the lodge or check if someone has posted a thread looking for a roommate.

There are really no other good places that are close to the lodge. Deal's Gap Motorcycle Resort is nearby and has rooms but they look very basic and they cater to the motorcycle crowd. (The burgers at their grill kick ass though.)

I have only stayed at Tapoco Lodge and Microtel so I really can't recommend any of the other places. I had reservations at Tuskeegee Motel one time and they seemed like good folks over the phone. Cruzz21 has stayed there and said it was good for the inexpensive price.

Hope that helps.

I'd like to have a good idea how many people are going to be there at least a month in advance if that's what you mean.
I am taking some serious thought in driving out for this. September 7th is my birthday. I live in Arizona.
