Ok, I installed my Z2 tonight (later than expected because someone hit my car

) using this method and it was very straight forward. I used the schosche harness but as stated everywhere the positive and negavive (yellow and black) WHERE REVERSED! I checked the harness out with my multimeter first to confirm, if you use this harness don't guess!!!
The radio will not function without the factory amp turned on and to let you know on my 07 it was the light blue wire in the second small radio harness (the one on the upper left of the radio if your looking from the back, not the one you solder your rca's into) I used a wire tap to tap into it as I didn't want to cut the wire. This wire needs to be fed 12v for the amp to turn on.
The volume levels seem normal to me and I'm very happy with the sound. The factory tweeters AND sub work using this method! I cannot comment much on if the overall clarity improved, since I didn't have the radio in for long (2 weeks) but I'm very happy with the outcome, I don't have my sub installed yet but the output from the factory sub was definately cleaned up a lot.
Overall I give it a
Thanks for the DIY
