So don't put words into my mouth. I am doing just fine with the stock knob which is actually weighted as well. It just assists you in a more positive shift feel rather than a flimsy, cheap light weight knob.
It has nothing to do with the location of the gears.


Alright, I don't know where you are going with your arguement but as I said before it's all up to user preference. Some people like the shifter feel when it is weighted because the inertia of the heavy knob assists in engaging the gears. Others, myself included, find no benifit using a heavy knob for two reasons. One, a lot of the shifter feel is lost with a heavy knob. Two, I can't stand the metal knob because it gets extremely hot in the summer and extremely cold in the winter. Having to change the way I hold the knob due to temperature change is not my idea of fun driving.
