I applied Accumat Hyperflex on my doors and trunk and the difference is really noticeable. The doors now have a solid thud sound when closed. And the noise from passing cars and trucks has been greatly reduced. The bass on the stock sound system is definitely tighter and louder. I would recommend dampening the car. It really helps. This weekend I'm doing the floor.
By the way, the Civic does has noticeable engine and road noise. I have measured it with my trusty Rat-Shack SPL meter, and it does not lie. I drove my friends 98 Mazda Millenia and it was a lot easier to carry on a conversation in his car than in my pre-dampened Civic.
BTW, sometimes it's better not being able to hear people talk.
