I couldn't consistently produce the noise by pushing down on the trunk either, hence I had to make the video just in case I couldn't produce the noise at the dealership. But the problem had gotten so severe that the noise came anytime I was going <5mph on less than perfect pavement, that I was able to have the tech hear it on the testdrive. Best bet would be to find a place with the pavement needed where you can readily produce the noise somewhere near the dealership so that you can take the mechanic there for a testdrive, or make a video recording.
