Hey, having built 1 k-series transmission and this (06si) being my third, I can tell you, hands down, that I have tried a ton of fluids, and to date, the best solution for me has been or buy penzoil synchromesh and replace the fluid every 15k. I posted a thread on a forum for the 02+ si's which blew up to many many pages of technical details. The penzoil is easy to find (autozone of pep boys), cheap, and it works small miracles.
Another technique which helps a TON is as follows. When you start the car in the morning, as you let the motor warm up, depress the clutch and go through the gears 1-2-3-4-5-6-5-4-3-2-1-2-3-4-3-2-1-2-3-4-3-2-1-2-3-2-1-2-3-2-1
something like that, doing the lower three more than the upper ones. You will see that if you do this before driving, you will (a) not have notchiness, and (b) will have less-- if any-- false third gear shifts.
let me know how it works out and if you want a link to the other thread pm me.
