Smiths Falls Plant will close its doors for good the end of December. As recent as last Friday, 3 plants are scheduled in the US will close. Rumors today suggest a 4th plant in the US will close also. That leaves Hershey with no real volume of production in the US--Pennsylvania is being downsized. Quebec, Canada operation scheduled to close. Moirs(Pot of Gold), Dartmouth probably too. Everything going to Mexico.

Milton Hershey was a compassionate man who knew how to take care of his community and still profit from his company. In his day, during an expansion where machines could do the digging he hired the unemployed to dig by hand so all could prosper. Truly a great man. If he were alive today none of his plants would close.

I think it is a sad day in America.
