They do, in this case NJ would notify NY of the OP's driving conviction and NY would then penalize the OP with points according to their own structure.
If they didn't...I'd have little incentive to drive the speed limit in other states.
I know folks who've gotten speeding tickets in other states, they're all the same. It's just a traffic violation, so it's prepaid-able. You only have to appear in court if you're charged with a misdemeanor or felony.
In VA, fines aren't printed on the ticket either, you have to call or go online for ticket fines.
