Anyway, the price of my ticket isn't listed on the back of it and so I guess that means I need to appear in court, but wasn't given a date. I'm going to call tomorrow to see what the story is. I have a few questions though: I'm going to plead not guilty, which to me feels ridiculous because I was so far over the speed limit, but I can't afford what could be 6 pts on my license because I work for FedEx and could possibly lose my job.
Also, this is the first time I've ever been pulled over for speeding, so do you think the judge will be lenient? I don't know what the courts are like in Newark. Do you think they'll knock it down to something else because I'm not from there? Do points transfer from getting pulled over in one state, when you're from another? I heard from a few people that they didn't.
Any advice on any of this would be greatly appreciated. Also, I wasn't sure where to put this, but since I drive an Si, I put it in here. Feel free to move it. Thanks.

Assuming you're 18 or over, just call the courthouse or go online if that option is available. If you call, they'll tell you how much you owe and you can just pay it and be done with it.
If you can go online, they'll tell you how much you owe there and you can just pay it online.
Are you sure it was just speeding? 53 in a 25 would be reckless driving in most places, in which case, yes you'd have to appear in court since that's a misdemeanor.
