You may want to look into a more flexible adhesive like Goop. I have used that stuff for everything. JB Weld like most epoxies have a strong hold but get extremely brittle in the cold. They do not tolerate shock and vibration well. For something like slipping a shroud over something, Goop may be the ticket. It is crystal clear, fills gaps wonderfully, and is extremely sticky. It cures into a strong, yet slightly flexible bond that resists cold, heat, and moisture. Look into it.
