road noise is not bad @ all in the civic.
I have placed dynamat in the doors, both inside the door against the outter shell, and the inner shell of the door. I've put dynamat throughout the entire trunk, including getting back into the rear 1/4 panels against the outter sheet metal, and i've put dynamat in the side panels, and against the outter sheet metal on the side panels.
Here are a few of the benefits:
- GREATLY reduced road noise
- Increased SPL and speaker response
- Increased SQL
- When I shut the doors they sound like a mercedes/BMW, instead of a Honda
- The resonance on the exterior panels is virtually gone
- The above fact will also decrease my likelihood of small door dings and pressure dents because the sheetmetal is reinforced from the dynamat.
The only negative aspect of dynamat is weight, but to be honest with you, covering all those areas with dynamat has only added 30lbs.
