thanks. although I like the look of a larger rim better (18's was what i was thinking before I started researching) i'm seeing some posts by guys that have lost up to 8mpg after they switched. they're guessing it was their choice in tires that did it (they didn't get low rolling resistance rubber).
i'll have to see what turns up. I guess the safest way is to replace the rims and ride on the same rubber to see what happens.
the car's not broken in yet and i'm driving with bad habits (fast lane, 80mph with the flow of traffic) and the car's not broken in yet so I only got 30 mpg today.
took it from 14 miles on the Odometer to about 125 or so...
tomorrow i've got to drive a couple hundred for business, i'll slow it down and see what milage I can get.
(minor edit: the 30mpg is the number I got off the trip meter, which includes all miles including dealership miles. I test drove it at about 7miles on the odometer or so)
30 mpg is better than what I was getting on the E55 (14ish?) or with my Dodge Durango (11) though.
