The "short" in short shifter, at least for the FG2's TWM or Comptech pieces refer to the throw, not the height of the shift knob.
UPDATE:
There are three locations of minor interference. Oddly, the SS peice clears. The left cable ball, the right piviot mount and the big black shifter dome all interfere slightly with just the shift boot ring. With a little dremmel'n I fixed the right piviot interference without changing the outward appearance of the ring. Honestly, if I took out two washers from each stack, it would probably work without hacking anything.
I'm about to do some major surgery now which may take a couple of hours.
