I can peel out fine bouncing off 5500. And I launch a little under 4k. And revving is bad in neutral? I would think it'll do damage if you're bouncing off the revlimter at 8000 for 10 minutes or something. But I doubt ANY damage will occur revving an engine for 5 minutes at 3,000 rpm. Especially when majority of honda service manuals tell you to rev the engine at 3,000k until the cooling fans come on to reach operating temperature when it usually takes even longer than 5 minutes.
