Funny, that's exactly why I'm on here. Just bought an 06 Si and I have the same problem with something on the plastic cover in front of the tach. I'm going to try using a Dremel and a buffing brush or maybe some polishing compound to see if that'll help at all first. I'll post up how that goes...
