DIY--DCRH Install

For those interested in a DCRH. I did the install and what a differance.

I borrowed PICS form BCJ here and Bioevolve from K-series. I didnt take pics, so thanks to them.

Need to take the cowl off of the front. 3 black push tabs need to be removed
Be careful taking the plastic cowl off. There are clips that need to be popped, just pull up on it.

Once taken out, there are 4 -12mm bolts and 5 -10mm bolts that need to be removed.

There are 3- 12mm bolts that hold the heat shield. once removed, just let the shield stay put. You cant remove it until later.

There are 5- 14mm bolts holding the header on. 2 on top are the studs to the engine, 3 on the bottom are bolts. It is easier to get to them from the top. Be sure to use lubricant to loosen them up.

Now work from the bottom of the car..

First un hook the O2 Sensor from the clip on the left of the exhaust pipe.
also take the bolt clip off. 10mm bolt

Take a 14mm socket and remove the wire clip on top right of the steering rack. There are 2-14 mm bolts. This allows more room, just push it aside

To take the down pipe out. Loosen the 3-14mm bolts at the end of the pipe.
Take the 2-12mm bolts underneath the Cat and remove the pipe.

Next you need to remove the black CV Joint shield. There are 3-12mm bolts holding it on. It is behind the steering rack

Now to remove the stock header. There is a bracket under it with a 14mm bolt.

The header is now loose and ready to come out, Just work it and it will slide out.
Take out the heat sheild now and Stock header, just twist it a little

DCRH Install. The header will go in without lowering the cradle. Just shift it to the left. Just make sure all of the wire are out of the way. It takes some time. The is some slim room but it will go in. The header will scratch from hitting the front sway bar and firewall.

Once in just bolt the 5 bolts to the engine block and 3 bolts to the end of the RH.

Be sure to use the Defouler and push the front O2 bracket away from the header.

Just follow the beginning steps to put everything back together.

I used a lift which made things a ton easier. You will need some long extensions for the ratchet.

Took me around 2 hours to install. With a few busted knuckels too!
