would a Microfiber Chenille Mitt be better?
I noticed the scrubbers are more spaced out so maybe its easier to get the dirt/grit out of it

Wool is great, however won't last as long as microfiber. Be careful as well, that Australian sheepskin is good as well, but that doesn't the soft strands of fiber are soft, they could be polyester. Don't quote me on this, but I believe real microfiber is made out of polyamide.
Polyester scratches over time (causing swirls).
I haven't tried the chenille mitt yet. Believe it or not, three hours before writing this one was in my hand at WalMart. I was about to buy one..... hmmm...
