Cleaner Install

If you don't want to buy the kit at the link below from your Honda dealer:

http://www.hondapartsnow.com/install...ry-jack-lx.pdf

but you want a cleaner installation than what is posted above there is another option. Go to Radio Shack and buy two things:
  1. a pack of 2 Panel-Mount Phono Jack Color-coded (these are two audio female inputs that have threading and a nut so you can mount them to your dash somewhere (part number 274-0852) - these are like $3.
  2. A 3 ft audio Y-cable which will be used between the mounted audio inputs just listed and your ipod, etc.

You will also need that same wiring used in the above post (I think this is 8 gauge copper wire) to stick into the aux harness and the ability to solder the wires to the backs of the mountable audio inputs that you mount to your dash after drilling two little holes.

If you take your time and solder the wires good to the audio inputs (following directions from ehow.com) and then attach the wires to the harness like they do above (using electrical tape rather than duct tape), then put your car back together you will have a nice clean installation without paying a ton for that Honda package at the link above.

I am going to try to complete this installation tomorrow and may post some pictures later.
