When you don't have the transfer of rattles, it's safer for the tranmission gears as well. A BMW mechanic told me about how not to touch the shifter when driving in gear because it causes grinding when in gear. This is what they were taught in Germany at the BMW manufacturing plant.
So I love the quality of the new civic shifter. It feels the same as the high dollar cars.

The reason the rx7 shifters are smooth, is because they are weighted. It all depends on the bushings and gear fluid(RWD). The civic however, feels very good. It goes in and out easily and effortless. I like how it is precise. Maybe its because you have the lx and not the si..
