I know 18 x 8.5 rims will fit with a 225/40/18 setup and a Eibach Sportline Drop (1.4") without any rubbing because of this thread:

Rays/Gram Lights 57F installed

However, I'm concerned that a 225 tire will not be wide enough to protect the lip of my wheels. (Look at the pictures, the rim is out farther than the tire). So this leads me to my question:

So far, I have no suspension modifications at all. This means 18 x 8.5 with a 235/40/18 tire should work fine correct? Now the trickier question is, do you think this setup would allow for the same Eibach Sportline drop? If not, then do you think a HFP, Eibach Pro or Tein H-Tech (all approx 1") would work?

Thanks guys
