I find this quite useful. After walking away from the vehicle for like 30 feets when I'm not sure if I locked the door or not, I just press it twice to hear the honk as a reminder. I think many cars come this way, at least my friends G35and Accord do. My gf's BMW won't make a sound and I like it better with the honk on the second hit.
If you really can't stand it, just hit it once like the Honda guy said
