I put the car on ramps. Thank you to the original poster of this post for the great pictures it helped me on my first oil change for my car and it was much appreciated. Even with the car on ramps, getting the drain bolt off is a pain in the ass..

Do have a quick question for you guys, I have a 2008 4 door automatic EX-L, I dont drive it hard and I use synthetic oil. Ive been using valvoline synthetic 5w20 and the best fram oil filter (the ones for synthethic/ extended miles), and when I changed my oil this time (after about 6k miles/ 40% left) The oil looked terrible, the car only has 28k miles on it. But i mean like sludge terrible. The oil was jet black, thick and ive never seen that on my car before.. Is that normal for our cars?
