Anyone running a HFC shouldn't need the defouler. You have to consider how a defouler works, chances are the HFC+defouler are putting you back out of an acceptable range for the ECU.

Plus if the defouler wasn't done right to begin with (some require drilling) then that could again be the issue for those running a RH with a defouler.
