MAF calibrations only have a maximum advance of 45 degrees. (this is the default Honda setting) You will need a race header or supercharger for a cam advance of 50 degrees to be used though. Therefore you can make a little more midrange power and torque with the MAP calibration.
The stock tuned maps give additional power and torque across pretty much the entire rev range.

Doug or Derek, thanks for the update. This explains why I have noticed changes in throttle response as well as a tremendous amount of torque and power in the midrange. To be honest, the FlashPro MAP setting I am running has given the greatest improvement yet to my car.
I first did a Vibrant cat-back and noticed a nice little gain. Added a Vibrant race header and things began to wake up. Then, I did a custom cowl induction intake with cone filter as well as an M&M scoop. This really got the car going. However all of the mods pale in comparison to the MAP setting I am running [Injen CAI with rh and hfc.]
My car has power where I really need it without having to bang redline to get what I want. Right now power when passing, entering freeways and coming off turns is what I appreciate the most. As it stands, my car would be tremendously fun on a tight road course. I can only imagine what cams will do in the future.
