Actually, my ticket last month was issued on the day before I bought the Si, on my last ever trip home in my Audi A4 1.8T Quattro. It had 180K when I traded it (OK, essentially gave it away) on the Si. It was leaking oil and power steering fluid, and needed a clutch (still on the original one!), shocks, wheel bearings, and several new half-shafts. [I traded it because it was about to cost me about $5K to keep it running.]

I am still planning to hardwire the V1, and set it on the corner of my dash. It is less conspicuous there, even if the lower vantage point decreases the range some (compared to putting it on the visor).

I've never been tempted to race a state trooper, but I did pass an unmarked FHP car one evening on the interstate in Miami. He had been riding next to another car which swerved and almost hit him- so, he passed the other car, and I passed them both, at about 80. Oops!
