Doing the springs yourself isn't that big a deal... my dad and I did mine in an afternoon, and neither of us have ANY previous experience. There is a DIY on here somewhere... I think it may be in the stickied DIY thread.
The only hang-up is that you need a 17mm socket with a hex head to be able to remove the bolts on the top of the front strut towers... I didn't have one, so I just bought a cheap 17mm socket and welded a big-ass nut on the end. Voila
